Guest Information

Concierge - The concierge, Sandra, is here to help with anything you may need during your stay! Please call her at +501 613-3204, she is also available on WhatsApp. *Please be sure to schedule your departure with the concierge at least one day prior to departure. Working hours are 9 am to 5 pm.

LOCAL PHONE - You've been provided with a local mobile phone with prepaid minutes for use during your stay. *Please keep this phone with you when you’re away from the condo. You’ll find the following contacts programmed on your phone: Guest Services, Taxi, and the South Ambergris Patrol. *In the case of an emergency, make Patrol your 1st call.

DRINKING WATER - You’ve been provided with two 5-gallon jugs of water for drinking and making ice. If you need a replacement, please contact the concierge. While the tap water is safe for bathing and cleaning, we do not recommend drinking tap water on Ambergris Caye.

KAYAKS & PADDLE BOARDS - Located on the beach, these amenities are here for your enjoyment, so please take care of them. They should not be used at dusk/night. Kayaking to the reef without a guide is prohibited. Please return them when done.

STAYING COOL - Each room has its own air conditioner that is operated by a remote. Setting the unit to 25 degrees (Celsius) will keep you comfortable sleeping at night. You can also open the doors and windows to enjoy the island breeze. Dont forget to secure open doors to prevent them from slamming. Please turn off the air conditioning when you leave the condo or if you choose to open the doors and windows.

DOORS - Please secure all open doors to prevent the wind from slamming them shut and causing damage.

CROCODILE SAFETY - Being croc-wise is super easy! Just because you can't see a crocodile, that doesn't mean there's not one close by. Don't get into the ocean when it's dark, dusk, or dawn. If you see a crocodile, don't feed it!

GEICO GECKOS - Geckos are our friends, as they eat nuisance mosquitos. From time to time, they find their way into our condos. These little guys generate a “chirping” sound that makes them sound MUCH larger than they actually are, but we assure you that they’re harmless.

TRASH - The trash bins are located on the North side of the building next to the paved cart parking behind the wooden doors.

It's Time to Explore

Getting Around

Explore Ambergris Caye in style. We partner with trusted Golf Cart Rental providers; offering top-of-the-line golf carts with a full tank of gas, extra comfy seaters, enhanced control, and 24-hour roadside assistance. Contact guest services to help you set up your golf cart

Please keep your cart locked up whenever it’s parked, and don't leave anything on the cart (including beach towels), or it will disappear.

As you've probably noticed, the last 1.5 miles of road leading to our condo is unpaved, and can get rough with potholes...especially after heavy rain. Just take it slow, and relax!

When driving in town, make sure to have a valid driver’s license with you in case of periodic checkpoints.

When you park in town along the street, don’t park too close to an intersection where the curb is painted red, or you may get a parking ticket. Also, be aware of street directions! Front Street, Middle Street, and most side streets are one-way.

Grocery Shopping

Interested in grocery delivery? We are happy to pre-stock your residence with anything you may need, a $30 USD delivery fee + the cost of the groceries. If you pay with a credit card, an additional 2.5% processing fee will be added to the total overall cost.

Superbuy South is the closest “supermarket”, about 2 miles north of us. There, you can get just about anything you need including food, toiletries, liquor, and beer. Mention that you're staying at Hol Chan for a discount.

For produce, go to a roadside fruit stand. For a larger selection of non-locally grown produce, The Green House (on Middle St.) is your best bet. It is pricier, but definitely the place to go if there’s something you can’t find elsewhere.

For meats, you’ll want to go to the Caribbean Chicken store. It’s located just past the Victoria House- look for a yellow house on the left, and turn left there. The Sausage Factory (located on the side street in front of the Alaia arch) is good for sausages and deli meats. Wine de Vine (a bit closer to town) has an awesome wine selection with a large selection of deli meats and cheeses.

LC Distributors is the closest liquor store with the best selection and prices. You can purchase beer by the case, many different wines, local liquors, and name-brand liquors.

Other Fun Stuff/Kid Stuff

SECRET BEACH: Located 10 miles north of San Pedro Town, (not so) Secret Beach, is a gem on the west side of Ambergris Caye. With beautiful, crystal-clear blue waters - and a shallow slope that allows you to walk out for nearly a quarter mile with the water still below chest height - it’s the perfect place to spend time enjoying the sunshine and warm waters of Belize. Also, there isn’t any seagrass in the water! Consider bringing a pool float or two if you feel like relaxing or are bringing the kids! Note: it’s a long, bumpy ride, but well worth it! Plan for about 1-hour of travel from San Pedro Town. You can also take a taxi, or skip the long drive and make this a stop on a boat excursion.

KOKO KING: One of the few true sandy beaches on Caye Caulker, Koko King Beach offers a fun, resort-like vibe for everyone to enjoy. The beach is located on the north side of the “split.” Water Taxis run from San Pedro to Caye Caulker daily. Once there, just ask anyone on Caye Caulker where to catch the boat to Koko King, and they’ll direct you! Restaurant and fully stocked bar, rentable lounge beds and chairs on the beach. Innertubes. “Full Moon” parties every month! Check with us to book a boat or catamaran trip to Caye Caulker!

TRUCK STOP: See full description under “Where we like to eat”. The Truck Stop is located 1 mile north of the bridge and is closed on Monday and Tuesday. If you have kids with you, you must go.

ROJO LOUNGE: The Rojo lounge is another fun place that you might consider visiting while up north or as a ½ day trip on its own. Amazing food, fun atmosphere, and a beachfront pool/ loungers make it a very kid-friendly place to hang out at! *Closed Sundays.

THE CHICKEN DROP: The Chicken Drop is an interesting, yet famous, San Pedro tourist event where folks buy squares on a board and hope that a chicken defecates on their square! If the chicken poops on your square…you win! The stage for the Chicken Drop is a net-enclosed 10 x 10 grid marked with numbers from 1 to 100. Each square is purchased for $1BZD, $5BZD or $10BZD. For each ticket of $1BZD you can win up to $100BZD, $5BZD up to $500-800BZD and $10BZD wins you up to 1000BZD! Tickets go on sale at 5 pm, and the Drop starts at 7 pm, with one drop every 20 minutes. By far the most “touristy” thing to do in San Pedro, Belize! One person is chosen to toss the chicken in, but first, they must move it in a circle three times, raise its tail feathers, and blow its butt for good luck. The chicken is tossed on the stage, and that’s when the crowd takes over! Wahoo's Lounge has a happy hour and live music. They also have a famous Song called “Sexy Chicken”. Just ask any bartender working at the bar for more details.

HERMIT CRAB RACES @ Natuti Crab: One of the most interesting party nights in San Pedro! Every Tuesday starting around 6:30 pm!
